Regular Meeting

Amateur astronomer Bill Phillips will be our guest at the first regular meeting of the fall season. The topic is "Mars".

This will be our next regular meeting. Note that our meetings are held on the second Friday of the month.

SATURDAY, September 18, 2010 @ 11:00 am to 3:00 pm @ 5941 Mason Road, Sechelt.
Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden Society – Harvest Festival
Cost: by donation ($5 per person or $20 for the whole family suggested)

The Sunshine Coast Astronomy Club will be part of the festivities at this year’s Harvest Festival at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens. We'll have a booth with displays and information, and our special Solar Telescopes will be available for safe solar viewing of the sun, weather permitting!!

Bring the whole family to this celebration of summer’s bounty, complete with toe-tapping live music, children’s activities, garlic and other vegetables from the SCBGS garden, (plus tasting!), bake sale, hot dogs and much more. Local Garden Clubs are participating with demonstrations and activities, and there will be a small Plant Sale that includes a variety of winter and spring flower bulbs. The Harvest Festival will be a crowd pleaser! And it is a perfect chance to introduce your children and grandchildren to vegetable gardening.
